About Santa Fe

Who We Are
H+A has gained the reputation as one of the Santa Fe’s top studios. Since its founding in 1992, Hoopes + Associates, Architects, Ltd. Co. has specialized in the design of performing/assembly spaces, sacred spaces, and custom spaces designed for end-users. This combination of projects has allowed us to learn lessons from one scale of project that we can apply to another.

As a firm, we are deeply committed to community, pragmatic design and enduring architecture. H+A has a staff of six, including three registered architects. We have stayed small by design, in order to have those relationships with our clients that allow us to better understand their needs and concerns.

Our Work
We have found it easier to let others talk about our work. Desert Living Magazine in naming us to their Hotlist of top firms in the Southwest (from Southern California to Texas) spoke about the firm. “Judging from their work, you’d think this was a much larger firm. Proficient with traditional materials, H+A infuses their designs with modernist principals of form and minimalism. This is one to watch in coming years”.

We believe that architecture is a collaborative process and that together with our clients and consultants that there is no challenge that cannot be met.

Of Note
H+A feels honored that our work with our clients has been recognized for its quality of design. We have received awards from organizations such as the American Institute of Architects (including honor awards at the local and regional levels), Baltimore Heritage, The City of Santa Fe and the New Mexico State Preservation Office. Our work appears in books on architecture and in the national architecture press on a regular basis.

Based in Santa Fe, NM, H+A also maintains a design office in Palm Springs, CA.
