Take a step inside the quaint, adobe covered House of Ancestors store and become immersed in a world where time travel meets treasure hunt. House of Ancestors is the unique collaboration of James Russell Godman, Jr. and his wife Theresa Bohn.

With a passion for all things old and beautiful, their Santa Fe based shop is brimming with special finds from their travels across the Americas and beyond.

A second generation dealer, James’s background in antiques came to him naturally from his parents who owned a well-established antiques business in Mainville, Ohio, that specialized in early American and Shaker furniture.

Collecting became James’s passion, and when he grew up, he moved to Cooperstown, NY and opened his first antique shop called Stone House of Roseboom.

Several years later, he relocated to Hudson, NY in 1997 and added architectural salvage pieces to his collections. He later opened Keystone on the Hudson in 2005.

When James met Theresa, their shared collection expanded to include other places outside the America’s.

Theresa, an avid collector of European period antiques, also brought with her 20 +years’ experience in fashion and theatre production to help design the interior of their shop and home.

In 2011, Jim and Theresa moved to Santa Fe, NM to enjoy the diverse history, architecture and landscape.

Their newest endeavor, House of Ancestors, sits at the base of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, and provides its customers a rich shopping experience.

Taking hunting and gathering to a new level, Jim and Theresa have hand-picked each item to include period furniture, architectural accents, garden décor, ceramic containers, iconic art, unusual antiquities and much, much more.

A visit to the House of Ancestors is a must when visiting the Land of Enchantment!
