About Paul:
Few Santa Fe brokers bring Paul Duran’s combination of real estate experience, land-use knowledge and understanding of local government. Licensed in New Mexico since 1976, Paul has spent five decades representing residential, commercial, investment and land transactions throughout Santa Fe and Northern New Mexico.
A lifelong resident of Santa Fe and northern New Mexico, Paul served in the United States Navy before attending the University of New Mexico. His roots run deep here — not just in real estate, but in civic life. He served two terms as a Santa Fe County Commissioner and has sat on numerous City and County boards, including the Urban Policy Board, Historic Design Review Board, DWI Council, Transportation Policy Board, Board of Adjustment, Regional Planning Authority, and Extraterritorial Zoning Authority.
That combination — decades of transaction experience paired with firsthand knowledge of how city and county land-use decisions actually get made — gives Paul an insider’s grasp of zoning, development regulations and property rights that most agents simply don’t have. It’s a big part of why clients return to him again and again, and why his results speak for themselves:
Engaged to represent one of Santa Fe’s most significant estates, Paul managed strict confidentiality, vetted every prospective buyer, and coordinated with the City on business licensing — balancing a philanthropic sale price against finding a buyer who would be a true steward of the property.
A commercial property owner brought Paul back for two separate transactions years apart — the sale of an 8-unit apartment complex, and later an adjoining office complex.
And when an investment group needed to move a foreclosed 23-lot subdivision along with 264 acres of undeveloped land, they chose Paul for his land-use expertise. Over 18 months, he sold the foreclosed home, moved every remaining lot, and secured a buyer for the acreage.
Paul is the father of two and grandfather to three granddaughters, and his life centers on family, real estate, and community.
